Apart from relaxing by the pool in our private gardens or on the wonderful sandy beaches that stretch the entire length of Mojácar there are a number of alternative activities.

The Mojácar area is home to a number of golf courses, ranging in difficulty.  These include:

• Club Marina Golf, Mojácar, 2 x 9 holes, par 72, length 5.338 metres
• Desert Springs Golf Club,18 holes, par 72, length 6.173 metres
• Valle del Este, 18 holes,  par 71,  length 5.329 metres
• Cortijo Grande Club de Golf, 9 holes, par 70, length 5.840 metres
• Playa Macenas Golf Resort, 18 holes, par 66,

Also available are 4x4 quad bike treks; caving with differing levels of difficulty (Sorbas Caves); watersports, including diving and surfing; and boat trips combined with fishing, if that is your interest.

Other activities include microlite flights and horse riding (classes and treks).

Other places of interest to visit include:

Mini-Hollywood Western film set, complete with Wild West shows, out in the Tabernas Desert (location for the filming of many of the Spaghetti Westerns featuring Clint Eastwood), the old Bedar mines, and not forgetting the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, a place of scenic beauty. The fishing port of Garrucha is close by and well worth a visit one afternoon to watch the boats return and offload their catches.

Shopping: The old village of Mojácar is home to a surprising number of interesting shops and boutiques, all tucked away in its plazas and winding streets. On offer are gold and silver jewellery, original clothes and a huge range of traditional crafts. Not a single chain-store can be found. If you need to rest, there is a cafe on almost every corner, each with its own special charm. If you can't find that special something in the old village, then the local bus will take you down to the beach where you can explore the local shopping mall.
